Information you provide

You can enter accounts, balances, budgets, bills, transactions, categories and notes. If you choose to import a bank statement or CSV file, the app reads that file on your device and lets you review extracted transactions before saving them. A password entered to open a protected statement is used for that import and is not saved as a Randla setting.

If you choose receipt capture, the app uses the camera or an image you select to extract a draft transaction for your review. A receipt image is retained only when you choose that option.

Storage and backups

Financial records and settings are stored locally in the app on your device. Randla does not operate a user-account service or a database of your financial records.

You can create a local encrypted backup. Randla Pro can also write encrypted backup files to a folder you choose through Android's document provider. If you enable automatic backup, the app checks whether a day has passed when it opens and can write another encrypted backup to that folder. The storage provider may sync or store those files under its own terms and privacy policy. Check that it has synced your backup. Randla cannot recover a forgotten backup password.

Google Play subscriptions

If you choose Randla Pro, Google Play processes the purchase and manages the subscription. To confirm whether Pro is active, the app sends the Google Play purchase token and product identifiers over HTTPS to Randla's verification service hosted on Amazon Web Services in South Africa. That service asks Google Play to verify the subscription and returns the entitlement status to the app. It does not request or store your bank statements, transactions, receipts or backups. We do not receive your full payment-card number.

Google Play may process purchase and device information under Google's privacy policy. Amazon Web Services processes the verification request as our infrastructure provider.

Permissions and sharing

Randla requests access to a statement, backup or image only when you choose it through the device picker. Camera permission is requested if you choose to photograph a receipt. You control exports and backups; sharing a report or backup with another app or storage provider makes that file subject to the recipient's practices. New Randla backups are encrypted before export. Keep the password and any exported files safe.

Advertising and analytics

Randla does not include third-party advertising or an in-app analytics service. We do not sell your financial information or use it for advertising. Google Play and your device operating system may collect diagnostics or purchase-related information under their own policies. When you visit this policy page, the website host may receive standard connection information, such as your IP address.

Retention and your choices

You can edit or delete records in the app. Clearing Randla's app data or uninstalling it removes its local records from that device, subject to any device backup features you may have enabled. Files you exported or backed up outside the app are not deleted when you clear or uninstall it; delete those separately from the location where you saved them. Randla does not keep a server-side copy of your financial records to recover later.

Children and changes

Randla is intended for adults managing their own finances and is not directed to children. We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The current version will be available on this page with an updated effective date.
